Current Conditions: Scattered Clouds  45.8°F

Blountville, TN- The following statement has been issued by Patrick Wilson, executive director of Tri-Cities Regional Airport, in response to the loss of service to Cincinnati (CVG) in February 2010.

"The loss of Cincinnati service is very disappointing.  The Delta/Northwest Airlines merger and current economic conditions have been particularly hard on small airports like TRI, and many airports have lost Cincinnati service during the last year.

Even though Delta has been reducing the size of the Cincinnati hub for some time now, it has remained a popular alternative for Tri-Cities travelers.

The Airport Commission continues its efforts to increase service from current carriers and recruit new service into the market.  Although the loss of service to Cincinnati is a setback, it may open opportunities for service to new hubs in the future."
