Blountville, TN: Tri-Cities Regional Airport has received a discrepancy-free inspection from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) during its annual Airport Certification and Safety Inspection audit. This year's inspection marks 12 consecutive years that TRI has received an annual inspection with no deficiencies noted from the FAA. The inspection determines the airport's current regulation compliance, which enables TCRA to continue operating as a FAA certified air carrier airport.
The FAA inspection is also considered a grade of the airport's operations, airfield safety and facilities which includes a very thorough review of the entire airfield including:
- airfield operations/signage/pavement markings/safety area navigational equipment
- Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) capabilities
- record keeping
- fueling operation equipment and regulations
- staff training
- FBO and corporate hangar site reviews
- other safety compliance programs
"The good results from the Federal Aviation Administration inspection show that our Airport Maintenance and Public Safety departments are continuously working to insure the safety of the airport. We are proud to have a group of dedicated employees that are very knowledgeable about their jobs," says Patrick Wilson, TCRA executive director.
