Tri-Cities Regional Airport is happy to welcome Tailwind Restaurant and Tailwind Express as the Airport’s new food service provider. The restaurant and concourse level eatery officially opened today and offers food and beverage service daily from 5:00 a.m. until the last scheduled flight departs.
Tailwind Restaurant is located in the Airport’s recently renovated eating facility. Tailwind’s initial menu includes hot breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, coffee, soft drinks and beer. Travelers can rest and relax in the bar area furnished with a 46" HDTV and comfortable seating. After January 21, Tailwind will offer a more extensive menu and full bar.
Tailwind Express is on the concourse level past the TSA security checkpoint and features many of the same menu items for passengers to enjoy while waiting for their flight to depart.
"We appreciate the community’s patience during the transition period between restaurant vendors," said Patrick Wilson, TCRA executive director. "Now that Tailwind is open for business, we are excited to be able to offer passengers and visitors the type of food and beverage options they expect."
Tailwind Restaurant and Tailwind Express are operated by Alan Giaquinto from Wilmington, North Carolina. He has been in the airport food service business since 2001 with his first operation in the Pitkin County Airport in Aspen, Colorado. Giaquinto brought Tailwind to the Wilmington International Airport in January 2005 and operates two full service restaurants, two full service bars, the airport gift shop and gift kiosk in the gate area. "I am happy to be able to provide quality food and beverage service for passengers in the Tri-Cities Regional Airport and look forward to making a good first impression on visitors coming into this region," says Giaquinto.
