Tri-Cities Region
The Tri-Cities (Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol TN/VA) is a 10-county region straddling the Tennessee-Virginia state line. With a population of over 584,000, it is the nation's 99th largest metropolitan statistical area. The trade area boasts a population of 1.2 million people which extends into portions of Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky and West Virginia. The three major cities in the region range in size from 41,900 to 57,800 in population and are situated approximately 20 miles from each other.
Convenient Access to Two Interstates
Tri-Cities Regional Airport is located in Sullivan County near the intersection of Interstate 81 and Interstate 26 making the region a strategic asset to distribution facilities.
Major Regional Manufacturing/Distribution Centers
The Tri-Cities is home to several world class manufacturing and distribution centers. Eastman Chemical Company, The Home Shopping Network, and Edwards and Associates are just a few of the businesses that operate corporate headquarters, distribution centers, or major manufacturing facilities in the area.

The Tri-Cities has the 15th lowest cost of living compared with other metro areas in the United States. Typically, the cost of living is 93% of the national average. Housing, utilities, and taxes tend to be much less. In addition, Tennessee has no income tax on wages.
